Child Safety Fair Success

On June 10, the Argyle Police Department hosted the third annual Child Safety Fair.  An estimated 1,200 attendees learned more about gun safety, water safety, fire safety and poison prevention. Free gun lock boxes, prescription medication lock boxes and life jackets were handed out during the event and approximately $650 was raised for Denton County Friends of the Family. Thank you to all who attended helping to keep our children safe.

At this week’s Town Council meeting, the Mayor and Council appointed new members to Argyle’s Town Council, Municipal Development Board, and the Planning & Zoning Commission. Independence Day Safety

It’s time for professional fireworks, food and fun. We’re thankful for (slightly) cooler temperatures during Independence Day weekend. For your safety, and the peace of mind of our four-legged friends, please remember that fireworks are illegal in Argyle. An officer may confiscate all fireworks and a person found guilty of violating the ordinance is subject to a fine up to $2,000. Leave the fireworks to the professionals. You can help the Argyle Police Department and the Denton County Emergency Services District by following the law and staying safe this holiday weekend.

Holiday Closure

Argyle Town offices will close on Tuesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services will remain on duty. Trash and recycling will not be affected.
