Short Term Rental Program
Town Council passed and approved Ordinance 2023-27 on August 21, 2023, adding Article 4.07 Short Term Rentals to Chapter 4 Business Regulations of the Town’s Code of Ordinances. The purpose of this article is to establish registration requirements for the Short-Term Rentals in Argyle and to require that Hotel Occupancy Taxes (HOT) of 7% be paid in a timely manner.
Short-Team Rentals/Tourist Homes are defined as the rental of any residence or residential structure, or a portion of a residence or residential structure, for a period of less than 30 days. This includes homes that are listed for rent on Airbnb, VRBO Vacation Rentals, HomeAway, and similar websites.
How to Register a Short-Term Rental
Applications for short-term rental registration must be submitted through the Town of Argyle online permitting portal. A link to the Online Permitting Portal is here: https://argyletx.portal.iworq.net/portalhome/argyletx.
Once on the portal, you will scroll down to the 'Building and Zoning Applications' section and click the Miscellaneous Permit Application icon. Complete all fields or place N/A in a field that doesn't apply.
Approved registrations shall be valid for a period of one year from the date of issuance and must be renewed annually for continued operation. The fee for registration of a Short-Term Rental is $100.
